This impactful contemporary sculpture captures the energy of the community while celebrating the history of its location.
Townlands 106 is a work based on community. The sculpture is a contemporary reinterpretation of Irelands ancient standing stones. Standing stones were places where communities gathered to celebrate social events and mark lunar festivals.
Ireland is patchwork of over 60,000 individual townlands. Townlands created a powerful sense of place and history for the population of Ireland. Each townland is a unique community.
Hollywoodrath is one of the 106 townlands within the Barony of Castleknock.
